LA, Natalie Mei Lau is on Her Way


   After a particularly difficult year, Natalie is once again on track for her move to Los Angeles.

   We are excited that this opportunity has finally arrived, but also feel a sense of loss, as she packs up her life in Hawaii and prepares for the City of Angels.

   Natalie has postponed her move to LA, as she is unable to leave the islands at this time.

   In the meantime, Lau has been keeping herself busy with print and runway modeling, scene study with Scott Rogers at the Academy of Film and Television, and work on "LOST".

   Hawaii's actors and models had an incredible year in 2004. However, 2005 is starting out much slower, which is causing some local actors and models to move to the mainland. Natalie Mei Lau, who played Agent Ash in "Agent Orange," is moving to LA and cites opportunity as her main reason for leaving.

   "I loved working on NBC's 'Hawaii', 'North Shore'on FOX, ABC's 'LOST' and the 'Rocky Point' pilot for WB, but now that 'LOST' is the only show filming, there just isn't enough work available," Lau stated.

   Many local actors and models hold full-time jobs, so they aren't seriously affected by the lack of acting and modeling work. For actors like Lau, who can't see themselves doing anything but acting, moving is inevitable. It's just a matter of when one has enough knowledge and skill to hold their own in Hollywood.

   "I have learned more working in Hawaii this past year than in all my previous years in the industry," says Lau. "Now, I'm looking forward to new opportunities to stretch my acting skills,"

   We have no doubt that Lau will find success in LA. She is an incredibly talented actor, who has landed roles ranging from prostitute to FBI agent and done print work as just about everything from lingerie model to mother of two. She's been working consistently in Hawaii, but according to Lau, every job just brings her one step closer to LA.

   Though we will miss her, we wish her the best.
